The 1st "Golani" Brigade (Hebrew: חֲטִיבַת גּוֹלָנִי‬) is an Israeli regular service infantry brigade that is subordinated to the 36th Division and traditionally associated with the Northern Command.

It is one of the five regular service infantry brigades of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Its symbol is a green olive tree against a yellow background, with its soldiers wearing a brown beret. Early Golani soldiers were farmers and new immigrants, so the strong connection to the land (earth) was important to honor.

For this reason, Golani's soldiers are designated by brown berets; the brown color symbolizing the brigade's connection with the soil of the Land of Israel. It is one of the most highly decorated infantry units in the IDF.

The Israel Defense Forces commonly known in Israel by the Hebrew acronym Tzahal(צה״ל‬), are the military forces of the State of Israel. They consist of the ground forces, air force, and navy.

It is the sole military wing of the Israeli security forces and has no civilian jurisdiction within Israel. The IDF is headed by its Chief of General Staff, the Ramatkal, subordinate to the Defense Minister of Israel; Lieutenant general (Rav Aluf) Gadi Eizenkot has served as Chief of Staff since 2015.

The Israel Defense Forces differ from most armed forces in the world in many ways. Differences include the mandatory conscription of women and its structure, which emphasizes close relations between the army, navy, and air force.

Since its founding, the IDF has been specifically designed to match Israel's unique security situation.

The Mossad is the national intelligence agency of Israel. It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security).

The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counterterrorism. In contrast to the government and military, the goals, structure, and powers of the Mossad are exempt from the Basic Laws of Israel. However, its activity is subject to secret procedures that have never been published. Its director reports directly to the Prime Minister.

The Israeli Navy is the naval warfare service arm of the Israel Defense Forces, operating primarily in the Mediterranean Sea theater as well as the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea theater.

The current commander in chief of the Israeli Navy is Aluf Eli Sharvit.

is believed to be responsible for maintaining Israel's offshore nuclear second strike capability.

The 35th Brigade (Hebrew: חֲטִיבַת הַצַּנְחָנִים‬, Hativat HaTzanhanim), also known as the Paratroopers Brigade, is an infantry brigade unit of paratroopers within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and forms a major part of the Infantry Corps.

It has a history of carrying out special forces-style missions dating back to the 1950s. Paratrooper Brigade soldiers wear maroon berets with the infantry pin and reddish-brown boots.

Distinct from all other soldiers of the IDF, Paratroopers wear a tunic and belt over the shirt. The IDF has three reservist paratrooper brigades (includes the 226) at any given time, consisting of personnel who served their mandatory time in the brigade, and who are mostly relatively recently discharged, aside from officers.

These are most likely the most highly trained reservist brigades in the IDF.
